Who am I? Bobbi Van Reet. Child of God. Wife to Alan. Mom to Jayme & Ashlee.
What inspires me? My family. I feel that if I can capture their personalities in a picture, I’ll never be able to forget that moment. Our life passes by faster than we realize and I want to remember it all.
Why photography? We all have a story. I am not a writer, so I thought I could tell stories though photographs. When we leave this world our “stuff” can’t tell our stories or memories. Photographs can. Our pictures can take us places that warm our hearts, make us smile and remember those who have gone on before us.
All time favorite moment to photograph? Being a former military wife I have a big soft spot for deployment homecomings. The look on a child’s face after seeing their parent for the first time in months, or the embrace of a husband and a wife brings me to tears in an instant. The raw emotion of a homecoming is something that never be forgotten. I would love to capture the happiness and excitement for someone to look back on for the rest of their life.
